Ireland's largest-ever fire-services capital programme will invest €328.5 million in stations, vehicles, equipment, training and communications between 2026 and 2030.
Ireland's largest-ever fire-services capital programme will invest €328.5 million in stations, vehicles, equipment, training and communications between 2026 and 2030.
The programme includes 40 new Class B fire appliances, 12 aerial appliances and 40 water tankers. Funding has also been allocated for high-capacity pumps, urban search-and-rescue equipment, road-traffic collision tools, personal protective equipment and upgraded firefighter training facilities.
A new national mobilisation and communications system will also modernise how 999 and 112 fire-service calls are handled across the regional control centres in Dublin, Limerick and Castlebar.
The investment is intended to strengthen Ireland's response to severe weather, wildfires, flooding, industrial incidents, structural collapse and increasingly complex urban emergencies.
