Dublin Fire Brigade Welcomes 35 New Firefighter-Paramedics

Dublin Fire Brigade has welcomed 35 new recruits following an 18-week training programme.

The new members took part in a passing-out parade at the brigade's training centre in Marino before beginning work as probationary firefighters.

Their initial training included the essential skills required to respond to fires, rescues and other emergencies across Dublin. They will continue their professional development by completing a two-year paramedic programme, including classroom learning and supervised field experience in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

A further recruit class was scheduled to begin training in June, adding to the next generation of firefighter-paramedics serving communities throughout Dublin.
